About this Stop
Catholic Charities Diocese of Owensboro looks forward to welcoming you to this interactive and transformative experience. It will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center, overlooking the scenic Ohio River in our revitalized downtown, the culinary and cultural hub of western Kentucky. The Convention Center is walking distance from the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, diocesan offices, and several Catholic Charities-run shelters. We are pleased to host People of Hope: Faith-Filled Stories of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
On July 26, we will celebrate Community and Parish Engagement Day, along with partner social service agencies, and encourage guests to volunteer and support the missions of our organizations.
On July 27, we will celebrate Health and Community Resource Day, with resources for young and marginalized people including well-checks, opportunities to sign up for afterschool care, hair cuts and face painting. We will also begin packing food boxes for families in need of supplemental nutrition.
On July 28, we will acknowledge Food Insecurity Day and finish packing food boxes to be distributed to Head Start families in our 19-county area.
