Tour Stops
The People of Hope Museum will travel the country through June 2028. Find us in your community and stop by for a visit!
From March to December 2026, the museum will progress through 21 states, from Texas to Ohio and from Maine to Florida, mostly in the eastern half of the United States. We will then tour the western states in 2027. In the first half of 2028, we will visit places missed or that would like a repeat visit. More dates will be added regularly, so be sure to sign up for updates.
Boston, Massachusetts
Catholic Charities Boston began in 1903 amidst the appalling social conditions of Boston’s immigrant and predominantly Catholic population.
Manchester, New Hampshire
Since 1945, Catholic Charities New Hampshire has been a mainstay in communities across the state, creating a better quality of life for hundreds of thousands of individuals.
Portland, Maine
The mission of Catholic Charities Maine is a mission as old as the church itself, one that all are called to share: the challenge of a deeper identification with and commitment to people living in poverty.
About the Museum
The cornerstone of People of Hope is an immersive experience that will tour the United States for two-and-a-half years, highlighting sacred stories of service — moments that reveal the power of volunteering, the awe of encountering others at their most vulnerable and the transformation that occurs when we live out our faith through service. The museum, housed in a retrofitted tractor trailer, will share first-person accounts from staff and volunteers of Catholic Charities agencies across the country about meaningful and memorable encounters with families and individuals in need.
Visitors will be invited to record their own inspirational stories of service, and the museum will highlight opportunities for them to engage in service across the country through Catholic Charities agencies and other mission-aligned organizations. Recent surveys show that two-thirds of people are open to volunteering for three simple reasons: to help others, to express empathy for those who need help and to feel more connected to their community.
This project was made possible by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
